It may bounce and wobble going over bumps. If not, you'd need to use a locking clip in those positions. If you're installing the seat behind one of the front seats and it's a lap and shoulder belt, then yes, we need to know if you can lock the seatbelt by pulling the shoulder belt slowly all the way out (it'll go click click click click as it goes back in, and you'll need to unbuckle it to pull it out again). So you don't need to worry about it locking. However, if you're using a lap belt only with a tail you pull tight and a big ole buckle, it'll lock at the buckle. It's possible a higher end car like an Acura had them before the required date, but I don't know. Seatbelts lock either at the buckle, or at the shoulder, if the car was made after 1996. You only check for movement at the belt path, where the seatbelt goes through. ![]() That's expected movement and is not a risk. If you're wiggling it around the head of the seat, and pushing it toward the backseat, that's fine. ![]() When you're moving it you say it's tight where the seatbelt is. Are you using a lap and shoulder belt, or the lap belt in the middle?
